Over vs FTMO

How a $10,000 FTMO 2-Step Challenge compares with a $10,000 Over mission, rule by rule.

How each one works

FTMO is a forex and CFD prop firm. You trade a demo account through two phases, the FTMO Challenge and the Verification, then move to a funded FTMO Account.[1] Over is an instant-funded perpetual prop firm. You get $10,000 of trading power on stock and crypto perps straight away. No evaluation: hit the target and you're paid. No evaluation, no funded stage to trade through first.

Where Over is ahead

  • Instant funding. FTMO makes you pass two phases first.[1]
  • Paid within 24 hours of approval. FTMO's first reward comes from day 14 on the funded account.[2][3]
  • Stocks and crypto perps, with your rules and trades sealed onchain.[4]

What you pay, and what it takes to get paid

FTMO charges a one-time fee, refunded with your first reward.[5] For it, you pass two phases: 10% ($1,000) in the Challenge, then 5% ($500) in the Verification, with at least 4 trading days in each.[1][6] Then you trade the funded account, and your first reward comes from day 14 after your first funded trade.[2] Over charges $160 once, and every Over account is instant funded. No evaluation, no second phase. You make 10% ($1,000) in realised profit within 72 hours, across at least 5 sectors, and you're paid in USDC within 24 hours of approval.[4][3] No trading fees, no payout buffer, no 14-day wait.

How you fail

FTMO has two loss limits. The daily one is 5% of your initial balance, $500 a day, and it counts open positions. The maximum is 10% of your initial balance, so the account fails at $9,000, and that line never moves.[1] Over has two limits. Its floor is static, 5% below your $10,000 start, at $9,500. Its daily limit is 3% of the account, $300, measured from each day's opening balance and reset at 00:00 UTC. Both count open positions.[4]

Two example 72-hour runs on a $10,000 account. White is the balance, the iridescent line is Over's floor, and red is FTMO's limits. On a calm run Over's floor sits higher, because it starts 5% below you. On a winning run with one bad day, a daily limit can end the run while you're still up. Over's floor stops at your start, so it can't.

How you get paid

On FTMO you can ask for your first reward from day 14 after your first trade on the funded account. The split is 80%, up to 90% with the Scaling Plan. You can be paid by bank wire, card, Skrill or crypto, including USDC.[2] On Over you are paid when you pass, within 24 hours of approval: 80% of the target, or 90% if you bought the upgrade, in USDC on Solana.[3]
